Rates and Insurance

Rate: My fees are consistent with those practiced by other licensed clinical psychologists in the New York area for a 45 minute session. EMDR and Prolonged Exposure sessions usually require 60-90 minutes and have a higher fee depending on the length of session. The length of session will be discussed prior to scheduling the following appointment. Group sessions are 75 minutes. Asylum evaluations have a flat fee which includes a full three hour evaluation, consultation with attorney and written report.

Insurance:  I am not on any insurance panels other than United UMR Top Tier for Mount Sinai employees and their covered family members. Payment is due at the time of service. Some insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits, and I am happy to provide documentation that you can submit to get reimbursement from your insurance company. Please call your insurance provider to see if they offer out-of-network benefits that would reimburse you for using my services.

Cancellation policy: When we schedule an appointment, that time is specifically reserved for you and, as a result, I require a 24 hour notice for cancelling or rescheduling sessions. You will be responsible for the full fee for late cancellations or missed appointments.

Payment: I accept cash (Zelle or Paypal) and credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover).

Questions to Ask Insurance

Questions to ask your insurance company:

  1. What are my out-of-network benefits for behavioral health or mental health?

  2. If I do have out-of-network benefits, do I have a deductible and how much is it? (deductible is the amount you would pay out of pocket first before your insurance begins to share the cost of your medical services).

  3. How much can I expect to get back for online therapy/video sessions provided in NYC (zipcode: 10001) with the following CPT codes, when the rate is $275?

    • 90832.95 (30 minute individual therapy video session)

    • 90834.95 (45 minute individual therapy video session)

    • 90837.95 (60 minute individual therapy video session)

    • 90791 (initial intake video session)

  4. Does my provider need authorization to use any of the above CPT codes?

  5. Is there a limit on out-of-pocket expenses per year? How much? (This is the maximum amount you will pay in a plan year; once you exceed this amount, your insurance will pay 100% of all healthcare expenses. This amount resets each year.)

  6. Do I have a limit on the number of outpatient mental health visits?

  7. What is my co-pay? (Percentage.)

  8. What is my co-insurance? (Percentage.)
